Bengaluru: TVS Motor Company on Saturday reported a 7 per cent increase in total sales at 4,73,970 units in April 2026, even as supply chain disruptions impacted production and dispatch volumes during the month.

The company had recorded total sales of 4,43,716 units in April 2025.
TVS Motor said customer retail demand remained robust across both domestic and international markets in the two- and three-wheeler segments. However, dispatch volumes were affected due to lower production caused by multiple supply-side challenges, including workforce availability issues, shortages of raw materials and consumables—particularly among tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers—and limited container availability for exports.

The company said corrective measures have been initiated and production is expected to recover in May 2026. Total two-wheeler sales grew 6 per cent to 4,55,333 units in April 2026 from 4,30,150 units in the same month last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales rose 8 per cent to 3,48,545 units as against 3,23,647 units in April 2025.

Motorcycle sales, however, declined to 2,00,039 units from 2,20,347 units a year ago. Scooter sales posted strong growth of 24 per cent, rising to 2,11,158 units compared to 1,69,741 units in April last year.

Electric vehicle sales continued to show momentum, registering a 36 per cent increase to 37,771 units in April 2026 from 27,684 units in the year-ago period.

The company’s international business recorded a modest 3 per cent growth, with total exports rising to 1,20,008 units from 1,16,700 units in April 2025. Two-wheeler exports remained largely flat at 1,06,788 units as against 1,06,503 units a year earlier.

Three-wheeler sales witnessed a sharp 37 per cent rise, increasing to 18,637 units in April 2026 from 13,566 units in the corresponding month last year.

Despite near-term supply constraints, the company indicated that underlying demand trends remain strong, with production expected to stabilise in the coming weeks.
