Gurgaon: Royal Enfield continued its strong growth momentum in January 2026, posting a 14 percent year-on-year rise in motorcycle sales and crossing the one-million sales milestone for the financial year in a record ten months, underscoring sustained demand across domestic and international markets.

The Eicher Motors arm sold 1,04,322 motorcycles during the month, compared with 91,132 units in January 2025. Growth was largely driven by models with engine capacity of up to 350cc, which remain the backbone of the brand’s portfolio. Sales in this category rose 18 percent year on year to 92,998 units, reflecting robust consumer interest in Royal Enfield’s high-volume models such as the Classic and Bullet ranges.

In contrast, motorcycles with engine capacity exceeding 350cc saw a marginal slowdown during the month. Sales in this segment declined 8 percent to 11,324 units from 12,317 units a year earlier, indicating some softness in demand for higher-capacity models in the near term.

On a cumulative basis, Royal Enfield’s performance remained strong. Year-to-date sales for April 2025 to January 2026 stood at 10,25,420 units, marking a sharp 25 percent increase over 8,18,209 units sold during the same period last year. The up to 350cc segment recorded particularly strong growth of 28 percent year to date, with volumes rising to 8,99,274 units, while motorcycles above 350cc grew 10 percent to 1,26,146 units.

International business also contributed meaningfully to the overall performance. Export volumes in January rose 5 percent year on year to 10,541 units. For the year so far, exports climbed 30 percent to 1,09,731 units, highlighting Royal Enfield’s expanding global footprint. Domestic sales during January grew 16 percent to 93,781 units, while cumulative domestic volumes rose 25 percent to 9,15,689 units.

Commenting on the performance, B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, said the new year had begun on a positive note, extending the momentum of the previous quarter and marking four consecutive months of double-digit growth. He noted that the company had crossed one million motorcycle sales globally in the current financial year and also surpassed 100,000 units in exports, reflecting expanding demand across its portfolio and deeper engagement with its rider community.

During the month, Royal Enfield also strengthened its brand ecosystem through multiple initiatives. The company launched the 2026 edition of the Goan Classic 350, introducing rider-focused updates such as an assist-and-slipper clutch and a USB Type-C fast-charging port, while retaining its signature bobber-inspired design and 349cc engine. Prices for the model range from ₹2.19 lakh to ₹2.22 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the colour variant.

In addition, Royal Enfield expanded its presence in digital and experiential spaces. It partnered with Krafton India to introduce its motorcycles, including the Bullet 350 and Continental GT 650, into the Battlegrounds Mobile India gaming universe, and launched its first Gymkhana in Bengaluru, offering structured, expert-led riding skill certification modules.

With a strong product pipeline, growing international presence and sustained demand in its core segments, Royal Enfield said it remains focused on delivering differentiated motorcycles and immersive brand experiences as it builds on its “Pure Motorcycling” philosophy.
