Mumbai: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. on Friday reported a 31 per cent year-on-year increase in total sales at 59,701 units in April 2026, driven by strong domestic demand and continued traction in electric vehicles.

The company had sold 45,532 units in April 2025. Domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 30.5 per cent to 59,000 units during the month, compared to 45,199 units in the year-ago period. International business (IB) sales also more than doubled to 701 units from 333 units last year, registering a growth of 110.5 per cent.

The company’s total passenger vehicle sales, including electric vehicles, stood at 59,701 units for April 2026.

Electric vehicle sales, including domestic and international business, recorded a sharp growth of 72.1 per cent at 9,150 units during the month, compared to 5,318 units in April last year, reflecting rising adoption of EVs in the passenger vehicle segment.

The company said the figures include sales from its subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited.

Tata Motors’ strong performance in April underscores sustained demand across its passenger vehicle portfolio, with electric vehicles continuing to play a key role in driving growth as the company strengthens its position in the evolving mobility landscape.
