Jaipur: Marking a significant milestone in Rajasthan’s transition towards sustainable public transportation, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Saturday flagged off EKA Mobility’s electric buses, reinforcing the state’s commitment to clean, green and future-ready mobility solutions. The flag-off ceremony was held in Jaipur in the presence of senior government officials and transport authorities.

The flag-off marks the first phase of deployment under EKA Mobility’s order for 876 electric buses in Rajasthan, awarded in consortium with Chartered Speed under the PM e-Bus Sewa initiative. These buses have been procured and will be operated and deployed across eight cities in the state by Chartered Speed.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder & Chairman, EKA Mobility, said: “We are honoured to partner with the Government of Rajasthan in its journey towards building a cleaner and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
The flag-off of EKA electric buses by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is a testament to the state’s strong commitment towards green mobility. Today, EKA’s electric mobility solutions are serving communities across the length and breadth of India—from Rajasthan to Arunachal Pradesh, and from Uttarakhand to Andhra Pradesh. This growing national footprint reflects our commitment to supporting India’s transition to green mobility while improving the quality of life for millions through modern, inclusive and sustainable public transport.”

Built on EKA’s advanced electric vehicle platform, the buses are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering superior passenger comfort, enhanced safety features, intelligent fleet management capabilities and zero tailpipe emissions. Designed with inclusivity at its core, the buses feature a dedicated wheelchair lift door mechanism for Divyang passengers, enabling safe and convenient boarding and deboarding for wheelchair users and promoting accessible public transportation for all. The deployment is expected to contribute significantly towards reducing the environmental footprint of public transportation while improving urban mobility across the state.

EKA Mobility continues to play a pivotal role in India’s electric mobility transformation with one of the country’s largest electric commercial vehicle portfolios, spanning electric buses, trucks and small commercial vehicles.
