Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on Friday reported a 20 per cent year-on-year growth in domestic tractor sales at 46,404 units in April 2026, driven by steady demand in the farm sector.
The company’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) said total tractor sales, including exports, rose 21 per cent to 48,411 units during the month, as against 40,054 units in April last year.
Exports for April stood at 2,007 units, registering a robust growth of 30 per cent over the same period a year ago.
Commenting on the performance, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the company delivered strong growth despite a less favourable base.
“We have sold 46,404 tractors in the domestic market during April 2026, registering a growth of 20 per cent over last year. This performance was achieved despite the absence of Chaitra Navratri in April this year, unlike last year when the month included seven Navratri days,” he said.
Nakra added that the company also recorded healthy momentum in overseas markets, with exports growing 30 per cent during the month.
The company’s tractor sales performance reflects continued resilience in rural demand and favourable underlying factors supporting the agricultural sector, even as seasonal variations impacted year-on-year comparisons.
Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business remains a key contributor to its overall portfolio, with the company maintaining its leadership position in the domestic tractor market while expanding its global footprint.
