Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on Friday reported a 14 per cent year-on-year increase in its overall auto sales for April 2026 at 94,627 units, including exports, driven by steady demand across segments.
The company said it sold 56,331 sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in the domestic market during the month, marking an 8 per cent growth over the corresponding period last year. Total utility vehicle sales, including exports, stood at 57,833 units.
Domestic sales of commercial vehicles were reported at 23,427 units, while the company also saw strong traction in select sub-segments such as light commercial vehicles and three-wheelers.
Commenting on the performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the new financial year has begun on a positive note, supported by sustained demand for the company’s SUV portfolio and improved overall volumes.
“The year has started positively in April with SUV sales of 56,331 units, reflecting an 8 per cent growth, and total vehicle sales reaching 94,627 units, a 14 per cent increase over the same month last year,” he said.
In the light commercial vehicle category, sales of models under 2 tonnes rose 13 per cent year-on-year to 2,984 units, while the 2 to 3.5 tonne segment recorded a 7 per cent growth at 20,443 units. The three-wheeler segment posted a sharp increase of 81 per cent to 9,899 units.
Exports also registered robust growth, rising 47 per cent to 4,670 units during April.
The company noted that its total vehicle sales include utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles under 3.5 tonnes, three-wheelers, and export volumes, with contributions from its subsidiaries supporting overall performance.
Mahindra’s steady growth in April reflects continued demand momentum in the SUV segment and a broad-based recovery across its automotive portfolio at the start of the financial year.
