Bengaluru: Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Friday reported a 17 per cent year-on-year increase in total sales at 32,086 units in April 2026, driven by strong domestic demand.

The company said domestic sales rose 21 per cent to 30,159 units during the month, compared to 24,833 units in April last year. Exports, however, declined 23 per cent to 1,927 units from 2,496 units in the year-ago period.

Overall sales, including domestic and exports, stood at 32,086 units in April 2026, as against 27,329 units in the same month last year.

On a cumulative basis for the calendar year from January to April, the company reported total sales of 1,37,194 units, registering a growth of 19 per cent over 1,15,157 units in the corresponding period of 2025. Domestic sales during the period rose 20 per cent to 1,26,651 units, while exports increased 13 per cent to 10,543 units.

Commenting on the performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the company’s steady growth reflects its focus on customer-centric strategies, product quality and consistent execution across markets.

He noted that a key milestone during the month was the Toyota Innova HyCross achieving cumulative sales of 2 lakh units, highlighting the growing acceptance of hybrid vehicles among customers.

Manohar added that despite evolving industry conditions, the company continues to witness healthy demand, supported by its efforts to align technological innovations with customer expectations and strengthen its product portfolio.

The company said it remains confident of sustaining the growth momentum in the coming months, backed by its expanding lineup and robust dealer network.
