New Delhi: VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) on Saturday reported a 15.8 per cent year-on-year increase in total sales, including Volvo Trucks & Buses, to 8,241 units in July 2026, driven by strong growth in the domestic commercial vehicle market.

The company had sold 7,115 units in July 2025, compared with 8,241 units in July 2026. Sales of Eicher Trucks and Buses, including electric vehicles, rose 15.9 per cent to 8,045 units last month from 6,940 units in the year-ago period.

Domestic sales increased 18.2 per cent to 7,575 units from 6,410 units, led by a 28.9 per cent jump in sales of small commercial and light and medium-duty trucks, which rose to 4,394 units from 3,409 units. Heavy-duty truck sales also grew 13.2 per cent to 1,916 units from 1,692 units.

Light and medium-duty bus sales remained largely flat at 1,145 units against 1,148 units in July last year, while heavy-duty bus sales declined 25.5 per cent to 120 units from 161 units.

Exports fell 11.3 per cent to 470 units during the month from 530 units a year earlier, as lower shipments of buses and light and medium-duty commercial vehicles offset a sharp rise in heavy-duty truck exports.

Volvo Trucks & Buses posted a 12 per cent increase in sales to 196 units in July from 175 units in the corresponding month of the previous year.

During the April-July period of FY27, VECV’s total sales increased 15.1 per cent to 33,056 units from 28,725 units in the same period of the previous fiscal. Domestic sales rose 16 per cent to 30,342 units, while sales of Volvo Trucks & Buses grew 29.7 per cent to 794 units. Export volumes, however, slipped 2.3 per cent to 1,920 units during the period.
