New Delhi: VIDA, the electric mobility brand from Hero MotoCorp, has opened a new chapter in the off-road segment with the launch of the DIRT.E K3, an electric motorcycle designed for children aged 4 to 10. Announced on December 12, the new model is positioned as a size-adaptive machine that grows with its rider and sets a structured foundation for early motorcycling. The company has priced the first 300 units at an introductory INR 69,990.

The K3 is the first motorcycle in VIDA’s new DIRT.E lineup. It has been created for young enthusiasts who are just beginning to explore riding. The company says the motorcycle brings a new philosophy to the segment by blending electric performance with a flexible design that evolves over multiple years of a child’s growth.

The three-stage adjustable system allows the bike to shift between Small, Medium and Large settings with a single tool, helping parents avoid the common problem of kids outgrowing their motorcycles quickly. Hero MotoCorp’s Executive Chairman Dr. Pawan Munjal said the product reflects VIDA’s broader goal of shaping mobility for the next generation. He described the DIRT.E range as a way to encourage safe and joyful exploration while nurturing lifelong confidence and curiosity in young riders.

The K3 carries the stance of a true off-road motorcycle, helping young riders develop proper riding habits early. The electric drivetrain promises smooth and linear torque to ensure predictable handling. Parents can use VIDA’s app-based controls to set speed limits, lock riding modes and monitor usage during early training. The company says this supervisory system is meant to make first experiences with motorcycling safer while still keeping them fun.

The motorcycle has been conceptualized and developed at Hero’s Tech Centre Germany and at the Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur. Production will take place at the company’s manufacturing facility in Tirupati, where VIDA’s EV line is housed. Hero says this integration of design and manufacturing ensures global-grade engineering, safety and performance.

The K3 is powered by a 350W continuous motor with a 500W peak output. It comes with a 360Wh removable battery that can be detached and charged indoors. Charging from 0 to 100 percent takes about three hours and provides nearly three hours of riding time depending on mode and terrain. The magnetic connector and sealed enclosure are designed to make charging convenient and safe, even in dusty or wet conditions.
The motorcycle offers three riding modes: Beginner at 8 kmph, Amateur at 16 kmph and Pro at 25 kmph. Other features aimed at boosting confidence include a 16-inch spoked wheel, a single rear hydraulic disc brake designed to reduce front-wheel washouts and an adjustable frame that scales across three stages.

Safety additions include a child-scaled brake lever, impact-absorbing components, an over-moulded wiring harness and a magnetic lanyard-based kill switch that shuts the motor instantly if the rider is separated from the bike. Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer of Hero’s Emerging Mobility Business Unit, said the K3 is meant to change how children interact with motorcycling by providing a platform that adapts as they progress.

She added that the DIRT.E series aims to create an ecosystem that encourages safe, responsible and outdoor-driven experiences from a young age. The DIRT.E K3 has already earned international recognition, winning the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and being named a CES Innovation Award Honoree for 2026.

VIDA has opened Expressions of Interest on its website and will begin retail on January 15, 2026. Deliveries in the first phase will roll out through select outlets across Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Jaipur and Calicut. The motorcycle will be available in Red, Purple and White.
