New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Thursday reported a 53 per cent year-on-year growth in overall sales, including exports, of its Trucks and Buses business at 2,912 vehicles in September 2026.

The company’s Trucks and Buses business comprises Mahindra Truck & Bus Division (MTBD) and SML Mahindra Ltd.

According to the company, cargo vehicle sales for the combined business surged 84 per cent to 2,043 units in September 2026 from 1,112 units in the year-ago month. Passenger vehicle sales rose 10 per cent to 869 units from 792 units.

For the April-September period of FY27, the combined Trucks and Buses business sold 17,805 vehicles, registering a 22 per cent growth over 14,588 units in the corresponding period of FY26.

During the six-month period, cargo vehicle sales increased 23 per cent to 8,499 units, while passenger vehicle sales grew 21 per cent to 9,306 units.

MTBD recorded an 87 per cent increase in total sales at 1,788 units in September, compared with 954 units a year earlier. Its cargo vehicle sales more than doubled to 1,527 units, while passenger vehicle sales increased 23 per cent to 261 units.

SML Mahindra reported an 18 per cent rise in total sales at 1,124 units in September against 950 units in the same month last year.

Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman, SML, and President, Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses and Construction Equipment, M&M, said September was a strong month for the truck and bus segment, supported by early festive buying, continued infrastructure activity and steady freight movement.

He also said growth was aided by the lower base of the previous year, when buying sentiment was impacted by anticipated regulatory changes, while noting that fuel and input cost pressures continued to persist.
