Ashok Leyland sales rise 28% in September

New Delhi: Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland on Thursday reported a 28 per cent year-on-year increase in total vehicle sales, including exports, at 24,049 units in September 2026.

The company had sold 18,813 vehicles in the corresponding month last year. Domestic sales rose 29 per cent to 22,157 units in September 2026 from 17,209 units a year earlier.

Domestic medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales increased 40 per cent to 14,746 units, compared with 10,499 units in September 2025. M&HCV truck sales rose 44 per cent to 12,724 units, while M&HCV bus sales increased 24 per cent to 2,022 units.

Light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales in the domestic market grew 10 per cent to 7,411 units from 6,710 units a year ago.

Including exports, M&HCV sales rose 37 per cent to 16,188 units in September 2026 from 11,808 units in the year-ago month. M&HCV truck sales increased 44 per cent to 13,244 units, while bus sales grew 13 per cent to 2,944 units.

LCV sales, including exports, increased 12 per cent to 7,861 units during the month from 7,005 units in September 2025.

For the April-September period, Ashok Leyland’s total vehicle sales, including exports, stood at 1,13,440 units, up 22 per cent from 93,354 units in the corresponding period last year.

Domestic cumulative sales during the first six months of the financial year rose 24 per cent to 1,05,877 units from 85,559 units a year earlier.
