Mumbai: Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) has crossed the 4 lakh cumulative sales mark for electric vehicles, becoming the first commercial vehicle manufacturer in India to achieve the milestone, the company said.
The milestone comes as the company expands its presence in India’s electric last-mile mobility segment, with its electric three-wheelers and small commercial vehicles being used by drivers, delivery partners, shopkeepers and small businesses.
Mahindra said its electric vehicle range, including the UDO, Treo range, Zor Grand, ZEO and e-Alfa, has collectively travelled more than 9 billion kilometres.
The company said its EVs have helped avoid approximately 1.85 lakh metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to the environmental impact of planting more than 8.3 million trees.
MLMML said its electric mobility strategy has focused on making EVs economically viable for customers by improving daily earnings and business outcomes, supported by investments in products, financing, partnerships and customer support.
“We are not asking customers to embrace a climate solution. We are building products that make economic sense and improve their daily earnings. The environmental benefits follow naturally,” the company said.
Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, said the 4 lakh milestone represented the livelihoods powered by the company’s electric vehicles.
“4 Lakh is not just a number for us — it is 4 Lakh livelihoods we helped power every single day,” Mishra said.
She added that the company’s focus would remain on building better products, strengthening the EV ecosystem and making electric mobility accessible to last-mile customers.
MLMML is targeting one million electric vehicles on Indian roads by 2031, the company said.
