Rajkot: Atul Auto Ltd reported a solid performance in January 2026, with total vehicle sales rising nearly 24% year on year, driven largely by strong demand for its internal combustion engine three-wheelers. The company sold 2,942 vehicles during the month, compared with 2,378 units in January last year, reflecting sustained traction in the core three-wheeler segment

Sales of IC engine three-wheelers climbed sharply by about 41% to 2,301 units in January, up from 1,634 units a year ago, underscoring healthy replacement demand and stable activity in last-mile transport. On a year-to-date basis for FY26, IC engine three-wheeler sales stood at 19,888 units, marking a growth of over 12% compared with the same period last year

Electric vehicle performance during the month was mixed. Sales of L3 electric three-wheelers in January edged up marginally to 537 units from 519 units a year earlier, while L5 electric vehicle volumes declined sharply to 104 units from 225 units. The company noted that L5 electric vehicle sales were undertaken by its subsidiary, Atul Greentech Private Limited, and the lower monthly numbers reflect a sharp year-on-year contraction in this category

Including exports, Atul Auto’s overall sales momentum was even stronger. Total domestic and export volumes rose about 30% year on year to 3,606 units in January, compared with 2,772 units in the same month last year. For the year so far, cumulative domestic and export sales reached 30,799 units, up over 12% from the corresponding period of the previous financial year, supported by robust growth in conventional three-wheelers

The January performance highlights Atul Auto’s continued reliance on its internal combustion portfolio even as electric vehicle demand remains uneven. The company said it remains focused on strengthening its product mix and distribution as it navigates a transition phase in the three-wheeler market, marked by steady demand for conventional vehicles and selective adoption of electric models.
