New Delhi: Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group and one of the country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, on Thursday announced the launch of TWIN FUEL variants of its popular Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) – DOST and DOST+ XL. This milestone reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable customer-centric mobility solutions in the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment.

The vehicles were unveiled by Mr. Amandeep Singh, President – LCV, IO, Defence & Power Solutions, Ashok Leyland, in the presence of Mr. Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business, Ashok Leyland.

The newly launched TWIN FUEL models are equipped with advanced technology that allows seamless switching between Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and petrol, offering customers unmatched flexibility and peace of mind. The TWIN FUEL technology addresses one of the most pressing concerns for CNG vehicle users – range anxiety and the fear of not finding a CNG pump along their route. With the dual-fuel capability, customers can seamlessly switch between CNG and Petrol, ensuring uninterrupted journeys and the freedom to travel longer distances without compromise.

Mr. Amandeep Singh, President – LCV, IO, Defence & Power Solutions, Ashok Leyland, said: “The launch of our TWIN FUEL DOST and DOST+ XL is a significant step in our journey towards sustainable and customer-focused innovation. These vehicles empower operators to drive in the cleaner and greener CNG mode and switch to Petrol as a backup fuel when required, ensuring overall lower operating costs and reduced emissions. We believe this will set new benchmarks in the LCV segment and reinforce our leadership in providing future-ready mobility solutions.”

Mr. Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business, Ashok Leyland, added: ” The DOST range already has the trust of hundreds of thousands of small businesses. With the introduction of TWIN FUEL variants, we are empowering small businesses and fleet operators with greater choice and efficiency. The vehicles are designed to provide operational flexibility by running on CNG for cost efficiency and petrol for extended range and eliminating availability anxiety, while delivering lower emissions that reduce the carbon footprint and support India’s sustainability goals. We believe this innovation will resonate strongly with entrepreneurs and fleet operators across India.”

The TWIN FUEL DOST distinguishes itself with a benchmark payload capacity of 1218 kg, an extended driving range of 400 km, supported by a large CNG tank of 120 litres and an additional petrol tank of 5 litres for emergencies. The TWIN FUEL DOST+ XL offers a segment-defining payload of 1410 kg, enhanced CNG capacity of 148 litres and an additional petrol capacity of 5 litres, delivering a superior range of 500 km resulting in more business opportunities and greater earnings. By introducing TWIN FUEL technology in its trusted DOST range, Ashok Leyland is addressing the evolving needs of urban and semi-urban logistics operators, last-mile delivery businesses, and small enterprises.

Ashok Leyland has consistently led the way in offering future-ready solutions across its portfolio. The TWIN FUEL DOST and DOST+ XL strengthen the company’s position in the LCV segment by combining trusted performance with innovative technology.

Priced competitively, the TWIN FUEL DOST starts at ₹ 8.20 Lakh (ex-showroom) while the TWIN FUEL DOST + XL starts at ₹ 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
