New Delhi: JBM Auto Ltd on Wednesday said it has emerged as the country’s leading electric bus manufacturer in FY26, securing over 24 per cent market share in the segment, reflecting its growing dominance in India’s electric mobility space.

The company said it registered 1,282 electric buses during the financial year across key states such as Telangana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam, strengthening its presence in both public transport systems and private mobility segments, including luxury coaches and airport tarmac buses.

JBM Auto noted that its indigenously developed electric mobility platform has enabled it to partner with multiple state transport undertakings, corporates and private operators, positioning the company as a key player in India’s transition towards sustainable and locally manufactured transport solutions.

The firm also maintained a strong foothold in niche segments, commanding over 79 per cent market share in the electric tarmac bus category and around 50 per cent share in the intercity luxury coach segment. It added that its current order book exceeds 10,000 electric buses, providing strong visibility for future growth and expansion.

Commenting on the performance, Vice Chairman and Managing Director Nishant Arya said FY26 marked a transformative phase for the company, driven by technological advancements and operational strength. He said the company remains committed to supporting India’s broader vision of achieving carbon neutrality through accelerated adoption of electric mobility.

Arya further said JBM Auto’s leadership across segments such as public transport, luxury coaches and specialised applications demonstrates the reliability of its integrated EV platform. He added that the company will continue to scale up its manufacturing and research capabilities to meet rising demand, with a focus on safety, efficiency and innovation.

JBM Auto operates what it claims is the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, with an annual production capacity of up to 20,000 units. The company offers a wide range of electric buses catering to city transit, intercity travel, school and staff transportation, as well as specialised applications such as tarmac and special-purpose vehicles.

It also said its electric bus fleet is expected to collectively clock over 3 billion electric kilometres globally in the coming years, underlining its long-term commitment to sustainable mobility.
