New Delhi: Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd on Saturday reported a 66.5 per cent year-on-year increase in total wholesale dispatches to 9,339 units in July 2026, aided by robust domestic demand following the launch of its new mid-size SUV, Nissan Tekton.
The company had dispatched 5,608 units to dealers in July 2025, compared with 9,339 units in July 2026.
Domestic wholesales more than tripled to 4,518 units last month from 1,420 units in the corresponding month a year ago, while exports rose to 4,821 units from 4,188 units, the company said in a statement.
The automaker attributed the strong performance to encouraging customer response for the recently launched Nissan Tekton, which has emerged as a key growth driver in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
Commenting on the sales performance, Nissan Motor India Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the strong July numbers reflect the positive market response to the company’s latest products and reaffirm customer confidence in the Nissan brand.
He said the successful launch of the Tekton has significantly strengthened Nissan’s domestic business while enabling the company to maintain its robust export momentum.
Nissan said the Tekton forms a key part of its India growth strategy as it looks to strengthen its presence in the domestic passenger vehicle market while expanding its export footprint.
The company is pursuing an aggressive expansion plan in India with investments of nearly USD 700 million towards new platforms and upcoming products, including the Gravite, Tekton and a new seven-seater C-SUV, besides additional investments in the Magnite facelift and export programmes.
By the end of the current financial year, Nissan aims to expand its India portfolio from one model to four and, over the longer term, achieve annual sales of 2,00,000 units, equally split between domestic sales and exports.
The July performance comes amid improving demand in the Indian passenger vehicle market, with new SUV launches driving sales growth across several automakers.
