New Delhi: EV leasing platform Drivn has partnered with BillionE Mobility to lease and deploy 200 electric trucks as part of efforts to accelerate the electrification of freight transport in India.

The collaboration will focus on fleet deployment, route electrification and charging infrastructure to support large-scale adoption of electric trucks in commercial logistics, the companies said in a statement.

In the first phase, the partners will deploy 22 electric trucks for a cement industry customer under a long-term contract, establishing an electrified freight corridor.

The companies said the initial deployment is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 4,500 tonnes annually compared with conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks.

Drivn Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer Alpna Jain said large-scale deployment of electric trucks requires a robust ecosystem with reliable charging infrastructure, strong partner alignment and disciplined execution.

Through the partnership with BillionE Mobility, the company aims to ensure high vehicle uptime, operational consistency and operational efficiency, she said, adding that the initiative demonstrates electric freight is about building a logistics model that delivers both environmental and operational benefits.

BillionE Mobility Founder Kartikey Hariyani and CEO Sanjeev Kulkarni said electrifying India’s freight sector requires collaboration across technology, operations and financing.

The partnership with Drivn will help remove key barriers to electric vehicle adoption and support customers in transitioning to cleaner and more efficient logistics solutions, they added.
