Faridabad: Escorts Kubota Limited on Friday reported a 24.4 per cent year-on-year increase in its tractor sales for April 2026, driven by robust demand in the domestic market.
The company said its Agri Machinery Business sold 10,857 tractors during the month under review, as compared to 8,729 units in April 2025.
Domestic tractor sales rose sharply by 27.6 per cent to 10,398 units in April 2026 from 8,148 units in the same period last year, supported by favourable farm sentiment, adequate reservoir levels and improved rural liquidity following a reduction in GST. The company also cited steady underlying demand across key agricultural markets.
However, the company flagged potential headwinds, noting that geopolitical developments and their impact on supply chains, along with rising input costs, could moderate farmer affordability and sentiment in the near term.
Export sales, on the other hand, declined to 459 units in April 2026 as compared to 581 units in April 2025.
Escorts Kubota added that evolving weather conditions, particularly emerging El Niño signals, will remain a key factor to watch for future demand trends in the tractor industry.
The performance reflects strong domestic traction at the start of the financial year, even as external and climatic factors continue to pose uncertainties for the sector.
