New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Monday reported its highest-ever monthly sales volume, with total dispatches rising 34.8 per cent year-on-year to 2,42,688 units in May 2026, driven by strong growth in domestic sales and exports.
The country’s largest carmaker said domestic sales, including passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, stood at a record 1,93,535 units last month as against 1,38,690 units in May 2025.
Sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) declined to 7,239 units from 10,168 units in the year-ago month.
Total domestic sales, including OEM supplies, rose to 2,00,774 units compared with 1,48,858 units in May 2025. Exports increased 34.2 per cent to 41,914 units from 31,219 units in the corresponding month last year.
In the passenger vehicle segment, sales of mini cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, surged to 16,275 units from 6,776 units a year earlier.
Sales of compact and mid-size models, including Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, rose to 81,555 units from 61,960 units. Total passenger car sales climbed to 97,830 units compared with 68,736 units in May 2025.
Utility vehicle sales, led by models such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara and XL6, increased sharply to 79,267 units from 54,899 units in the same month last year.
Van sales, comprising Eeco, stood at 13,240 units against 12,327 units a year ago, while Super Carry light commercial vehicle sales rose to 3,198 units from 2,728 units.
For the first two months of FY27, the company reported total sales of 4,82,334 units, up from 3,59,868 units in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
