New Delhi: Apollo Tyres Ltd on Wednesday said it has secured an improved Gold rating from EcoVadis for 2026, while also receiving validation for its climate targets from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), marking key milestones in its sustainability journey.
The company said its EcoVadis score improved to 84 in 2026 from 76 in 2025, placing it in the 98th percentile globally and firmly within the Gold category, reflecting progress in environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
Apollo Tyres said the improved rating highlights its efforts to strengthen environmental stewardship, ethical governance, human rights practices and responsible sourcing across its global operations. The company added that it continues to benchmark its performance against global peers, reinforcing its position among organisations focused on responsible growth and climate action.
In a parallel development, the company said it has received validation from SBTi for its near-term and long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets, aligning its strategy with global climate science and efforts to limit temperature rise.
Apollo Tyres said it is targeting net-zero emissions across its value chain by FY2050. As part of its near-term goals, the company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 58.8 per cent by FY2035 from a FY2025 base year, while also targeting a 37.5 per cent reduction in key Scope 3 emissions over the same period.
For the long term, it plans to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90 per cent by FY2050, alongside a 90 per cent reduction in broader Scope 3 emissions, including those from purchased goods and services, transportation, waste, business travel and end-of-life treatment of products.
Commenting on the development, Chief Manufacturing and Sustainability Officer Rajeev Kumar Sinha said the improved EcoVadis Gold rating and SBTi validation represent significant milestones for the company. He said the recognitions reflect Apollo Tyres’ commitment to responsible growth and alignment with global climate goals, adding that the company will continue to work closely with partners and stakeholders to drive sustainable impact across its value chain.
