Chennai: Ashok Leyland Ltd on Wednesday reported a strong performance in FY26, with total vehicle sales reaching 2,20,437 units, a 13% increase from 1,95,097 units in FY25, including domestic and export markets. March 2026 sales stood at 25,381 units, up 5% from 24,060 units in March 2025, reflecting steady demand across commercial vehicle segments.

In the domestic market, Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) trucks recorded sales of 14,138 units in March, up 10% from 12,882 units a year ago, while cumulative FY26 sales for M&HCV trucks reached 1,06,772 units, a 14% year-on-year rise. M&HCV bus sales in March were 2,100 units, down 34% compared to 3,200 units in March 2025, with cumulative bus volumes remaining largely stable at 21,261 units. Overall, total domestic M&HCV volumes for FY26 were 1,28,033 units, up 12% from the previous year.

Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales also contributed to growth, with 7,505 units sold in March, up 17% from March 2025, and cumulative FY26 LCV sales reaching 74,322 units, a 14% increase.

Considering exports, total M&HCV volumes, including trucks and buses, stood at 17,518 units in March, a 3% increase from the same month last year, while cumulative sales for FY26 reached 1,42,658 units, up 13% from FY25. Total LCV sales including exports rose 12% in March to 7,863 units, with cumulative FY26 volumes at 77,779 units, up 13% year-on-year.

The company said the growth underscores robust demand across domestic and international markets and reflects strong performance across both truck and LCV segments despite challenges in the bus segment during the month. Ashok Leyland remains focused on expanding market share, strengthening its product portfolio, and supporting commercial transport modernization in India.
