New Delhi: Subros Limited has secured a significant business order worth ₹1,280 crore from Maruti Suzuki India Limited for the supply of electric compressors for the automaker’s hybrid vehicle programmes, marking a key step forward in the company’s electric mobility journey. The order will be executed over a period of around seven years and will cover multiple upcoming hybrid models from Maruti Suzuki.

The development was disclosed by Subros under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements. The company described the contract as a strategic milestone that strengthens its presence in the fast-growing electric and hybrid vehicle component space. Supplies are expected to begin in line with the start of production schedules of Maruti Suzuki’s new hybrid models.

Under the contract, Subros will manufacture electric compressors locally, supported by technical assistance from Japan-based DENSO Corporation and Toyota Industries Corporation. The localisation effort is aimed at enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities for advanced automotive thermal systems and reducing dependence on imported components, in line with broader industry and policy trends.

The company said the new order further reinforces its long-standing relationship with Maruti Suzuki India Limited, one of its key customers, and underlines its position as a trusted supplier of critical thermal management solutions. Subros expects the contract to contribute positively to its revenue stream over the duration of the agreement, providing long-term business visibility.

The order has been awarded under the existing basic purchase agreement between Subros and Maruti Suzuki and has been categorised as a domestic contract. While it falls under related party transactions, the company clarified that the deal has been executed at arm’s length and that there is no promoter or promoter group interest involved in the awarding entity.

Founded in 1985 as a joint venture between the Suri family of India, DENSO Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan, Subros Limited is India’s only integrated manufacturer of automotive air-conditioning systems and thermal products. Its portfolio includes compressors, condensers, heat exchangers and other components used across passenger vehicles, buses, trucks, refrigeration transport and railways.
