Tata Motors CV sales jump 49 pc to 44,411 units in August

Mumbai: Tata Motors on Tuesday reported a 49 per cent year-on-year growth in total commercial vehicle sales at 44,411 units in August 2026, compared with 29,863 units in the same month last year.

Domestic commercial vehicle sales rose 33 per cent to 36,619 units in August 2026 from 27,481 units a year earlier, while international business sales surged 227 per cent to 7,792 units from 2,382 units.

Among domestic segments, heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) truck sales increased 42 per cent to 10,612 units from 7,451 units in August 2025.

Intermediate and light medium commercial vehicle (ILMCV) truck sales rose 20 per cent to 6,859 units from 5,711 units, while passenger carrier sales grew 31 per cent to 4,701 units from 3,577 units.

Sales of small commercial vehicle (SCV) cargo vehicles and pickups increased 34 per cent to 14,447 units in August from 10,742 units in the year-ago month.

Domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MH&ICV) stood at 17,531 units in August 2026, registering a 31 per cent growth over 13,405 units sold in August 2025.

Including international business, MH&ICV sales rose 29 per cent to 18,920 units in August 2026 from 14,667 units in the corresponding month last year.
