New Delhi: Tsuyo Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, an electric mobility component manufacturer, has been selected among 120 startups for Bharat Innovates 2026, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education aimed at identifying and supporting India’s most promising technology ventures.
The programme, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the India-France Year of Innovation in February this year, will be held in Nice, France, from June 14 to 16 and is designed to provide mentorship, networking opportunities and global exposure to selected startups.
Tsuyo’s inclusion in the initiative recognises its contribution to India’s electric mobility ecosystem through the development and manufacturing of indigenous electric vehicle powertrain technologies. The company manufactures electric motors, controllers and integrated powertrain systems catering to a wide range of vehicle segments, including three-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, and off-road applications.
Based in Greater Noida, the company operates two manufacturing facilities and has supplied more than 200,000 electric motors to over 50 original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the country. It is also regarded as a key player in India’s mid-drive electric motor segment.
Tsuyo said its product portfolio ranges from 0.5 kW to 400 kW powertrain solutions and is focused on supporting the transition towards sustainable mobility through locally developed technologies.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Vijay Kumar said the selection validates the company’s efforts to develop globally competitive and affordable EV powertrain technologies designed and manufactured in India.
He said indigenous innovation will play a crucial role in strengthening supply chain resilience, reducing dependence on imported technologies and positioning India as a global hub for electric mobility manufacturing.
Founder and Chief Operating Officer Lalit Baid said the company is also working on sustainable motor technologies that do not rely on rare-earth magnets, reducing dependence on critical mineral supply chains and mitigating risks associated with global sourcing constraints.
He said participation in Bharat Innovates 2026 would help the company strengthen its innovation roadmap, build international partnerships and contribute to India’s ambitions of becoming a global leader in electric mobility technologies.
The company said the platform will provide an opportunity to showcase India’s engineering capabilities before global stakeholders and accelerate the development of next-generation electric mobility solutions.
Industry observers said the selection highlights the growing role of Indian startups in developing advanced clean mobility technologies and strengthening the country’s domestic EV manufacturing ecosystem.
