New Delhi: Escorts Kubota Ltd on Monday reported an 18.9 per cent increase in tractor sales at 12,310 units in May 2026, compared with 10,354 units in the same month last year.

The company’s domestic tractor sales stood at 11,887 units last month, registering a growth of 22.5 per cent from 9,703 units sold in May 2025.

Escorts Kubota said the growth momentum continued during the month with healthy performance across wholesale and retail segments, supported by favourable farm sentiment, adequate reservoir levels and sustained rural demand.

The company, however, noted that rising input costs, particularly fertilisers, softer prices for select cash crops and evolving geopolitical developments could affect customer affordability and input availability ahead of the Kharif season. Export tractor sales declined 35 per cent to 423 units in May 2026 from 651 units in the year-ago period.

For the April-May period of FY27, total tractor sales increased 21.4 per cent to 23,167 units as against 19,083 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

The company said strong reservoir levels and resilient rural demand continue to provide support to the agricultural sector, while monsoon progression and input cost trends remain key factors to watch in the coming months.
