New Delhi: VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) on Thursday reported a 49.6 per cent year-on-year increase in total sales, including electric vehicles, at 11,396 units in September 2026.
The company, a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 7,619 units in September 2025.Total Eicher trucks and buses, including EVs, rose 51.6 per cent to 11,146 units in September 2026 from 7,352 units a year earlier.
Domestic Eicher sales increased 57.5 per cent to 10,479 units from 6,652 units in the year-ago month. Sales of small commercial vehicles and light-to-medium-duty trucks below 18.5 tonnes rose 62 per cent to 6,156 units, while heavy-duty trucks of 18.5 tonnes and above increased 57.9 per cent to 3,086 units.
Eicher light and medium-duty buses grew 38.2 per cent to 1,107 units, while heavy-duty bus sales increased 36.8 per cent to 130 units.
VECV exports declined 4.7 per cent to 667 units in September 2026 from 700 units a year earlier. Exports of SCV/LMD vehicles and HD vehicles declined 14.7 per cent and 11.5 per cent, respectively, while bus exports rose 25.6 per cent.
Sales of Volvo trucks and buses stood at 250 units in September 2026, down 6.4 per cent from 267 units in the corresponding month last year.
For the April-September period, total VECV sales, including EVs, rose 21.5 per cent to 52,886 units from 43,511 units in the same period last year.
Total Eicher trucks and buses sales during the first six months of the financial year increased 21.7 per cent to 51,570 units, while domestic Eicher sales rose 23.7 per cent to 48,405 units.
