Hamburg, Germany: JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), a global leader in electric mobility and a flagship company of the $3 billion JBM Group, marked a significant milestone in its global journey by launching its all-electric city bus, ECOLIFE, at the ongoing UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 in Hamburg, Germany. This launch also marks the company’s formal foray into the European Union market, underlining its ambition to be a key player in the region’s sustainable urban mobility ecosystem.
The ECOLIFE electric city bus was officially unveiled by Mr. Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of the JBM Group, amid a gathering of global transport leaders and mobility innovators. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Arya articulated the company’s commitment to redefining public transport by merging advanced technology with sustainability.
“Our mission is to decarbonize public transport by creating new and sustainable global benchmarks,” said Arya. “At JBM EV, we believe that the future of green mobility lies in creating vehicles that seamlessly blend innovation, sustainability, and user-centric design. Our electric mobility solutions are not just about reducing carbon footprints—they are about elevating the quality of life for individuals and communities by making transportation smarter, safer, and more accessible.”
Celebrating a decade in the public mobility space this year, JBM EV has set ambitious goals. Arya shared the company’s vision to serve over 20 billion passengers and achieve 3 billion electric kilometres in the next 3–4 years. These efforts are part of the company’s broader mission to deliver safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible transportation solutions worldwide.
As part of its strategic expansion into the European market, JBM EV announced a partnership with KazenMaier Leasing, a prominent German leasing firm with a strong focus on green asset financing. Under this partnership, KazenMaier will serve as JBM EV’s preferred leasing partner in Germany, enabling easier access to the company’s zero-emission electric buses and accompanying ecosystem solutions.
Mr. Max Nastold, CEO of KazenMaier, expressed confidence in the collaboration: “As a leasing company with a strong focus on green asset financing, we found in JBM Electric Vehicles a great partner to help build the ecosystem for the future of mobility. The key lies in the turnkey solution that combines the bus, charging infrastructure, and leasing. JBM’s technology and our leasing expertise ensure easy access to zero-emission bus solutions. Together, we are driving sustainable mobility in public transport.”
Further strengthening its European presence, JBM EV has established its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, which will serve as the central hub for its operations across the continent. This new headquarters will oversee marketing, sales, aftersales services, and strategic partnerships throughout the European Union. The regional business is led by Mr. Daniel Frade, Director – Sales, Marketing & After Sales – Europe, a veteran in international mobility markets known for his deep expertise in expanding mobility solutions across diverse geographies.

At the heart of JBM EV’s offering is its comprehensive JBM E-Verse platform, an integrated EV ecosystem designed to offer end-to-end electric mobility solutions. Developed in-house, E-Verse includes fast-charging infrastructure, lithium-ion batteries, power network systems, and a connected digital backbone that ensures zero downtime for transit operators. E-Verse, entirely designed and engineered in India, exemplifies the company’s capability to deliver globally relevant technology.
With over 11,000 electric buses deployed or under execution across multiple global markets, JBM EV has made an indelible mark in the electric public transport space. The company operates the world’s largest dedicated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in India, with an annual capacity of 20,000 buses. Over the past five years, JBM EV buses have covered more than 165 million e-kilometres, served over 1 billion passengers, and helped save more than 350 million litres of diesel while reducing over 1 billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions.
The ECOLIFE city bus showcased at UITP Summit 2025 has been meticulously designed to align with stringent European safety and performance standards. It features a lightweight monocoque stainless steel body structure and includes the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) compliant with EU norms, as well as advanced telematics for 24/7 vehicle health monitoring.
Safety remains paramount in JBM’s design philosophy. ECOLIFE is equipped with a comprehensive suite of next-generation features including a proprietary Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Forward Collision Warning System (FVCWS), Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Detection, Pedestrian and Cyclist Collision Warning (MOIS), Driver Drowsiness and Distraction Alerts, and Fire Detection and Suppression Systems (FDSS). Additional provisions such as alcohol interlock installation, cybersecurity protections, and 360-degree camera surveillance ensure a secure and intelligent transport experience for operators and passengers alike.
JBM EV’s showcase in Hamburg is a reflection of its commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040. The company’s initiatives are aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG #3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG #9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG #11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG #13 (Climate Action).
With a focus on Safety, Performance, and Passenger Comfort, JBM EV continues to push the envelope in electric mobility, setting new standards and redefining the public transport experience not just in India, but globally. The launch of ECOLIFE and the company’s strategic initiatives in Europe underscore its vision to become a world-class provider of sustainable, technologically advanced mobility solutions.
