Gurugram: The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Manesar, on Friday marked its 20th anniversary with an industry dialogue on the PM e-Drive scheme and the launch of an indigenous agricultural machinery testing facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by Union Heavy Industries and Steel Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, senior officials from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and other ministries, industry leaders and media representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The industry dialogue focused on the PM e-Drive scheme and India’s transition towards clean, sustainable and self-reliant mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of ICAT’s Agri Machinery Test Facility, aimed at providing testing and certification support for agricultural equipment and contributing to the modernisation of farm machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the new facility, ICAT is expanding its testing and certification capabilities beyond the automotive sector to agricultural technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his opening remarks, ICAT Director Saurabh Dalela said the organisation had emerged over the past two decades as an important part of India’s automotive ecosystem, contributing to innovation, safety and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event also recognised the contribution of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, other nodal ministries, CMVR test agencies, suppliers, collaborators, partners, consultants, former CEOs of NATRiP\/NAB, former ICAT directors and its employees to the institution’s growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officials and representatives from MoRTH, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, MeitY, Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Commission for Air Quality Management, Bureau of Energy Efficiency and BIS, among others, were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ICAT, a testing, certification and homologation centre under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, has played a role in supporting India’s automotive industry through its services in vehicle testing, certification, research and technology development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
