Chennai: Rane (Madras) Ltd reported a 62.5 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 30.1 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, on the back of strong demand across domestic, export and aftermarket segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chennai-based auto component manufacturer had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 18.5 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consolidated revenue rose 18.8 per cent to Rs 1,050.6 crore in the first quarter of FY27 from Rs 884.4 crore a year earlier. EBITDA increased 22 per cent to Rs 95.8 crore, while EBITDA margin improved to 9.1 per cent from 8.9 per cent in the year-ago quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said domestic original equipment sales grew 13 per cent year-on-year, mainly driven by higher demand from passenger vehicle and farm tractor manufacturers. Sales to international customers increased 24 per cent, supported by higher demand for steering products, while Indian aftermarket sales grew 28 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Operational improvements and better absorption of fixed costs helped offset inflationary pressures arising from developments in West Asia, the company said. Finance costs declined 9.2 per cent year-on-year due to lower borrowing costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the quarter, Rane (Madras) entered into a Business Transfer Agreement to acquire the friction business of Hindustan Composites on a slump sale basis for an enterprise value of Rs 370 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and other closing conditions and is expected to be completed by the end of the current quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company invested Rs 76.2 crore in capital expenditure during the quarter, with most of the spending directed towards expanding capacity and capabilities in its steering and linkages and brake components divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rane (Madras) also secured new business with an estimated lifetime value of around Rs 2,040 crore during the quarter, strengthening its future order pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
