{"id":4620,"date":"2026-08-01T05:59:35","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T05:59:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/automobilitymag.com\/?p=4620"},"modified":"2026-08-01T05:59:36","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T05:59:36","slug":"mahindra-trucks-buses-sales-rise-19-to-3009-units-in-july","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/automobilitymag.com\/index.php\/2026\/08\/01\/mahindra-trucks-buses-sales-rise-19-to-3009-units-in-july\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahindra Trucks &amp; Buses sales rise 19% to 3,009 units in July"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New Delhi: Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Ltd (M&amp;M) on Saturday reported a 19 per cent year-on-year increase in overall sales of its Trucks &amp; Buses business, including exports, at 3,009 units in July 2026, driven by strong growth in both cargo and passenger vehicle segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company&#8217;s Trucks &amp; Buses business, comprising Mahindra Trucks &amp; Buses Division (MTBD) and SML Mahindra Ltd, had sold 2,534 vehicles in July 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cargo vehicle sales rose 15 per cent to 1,474 units last month from 1,281 units in the year-ago period, while passenger vehicle sales increased 23 per cent to 1,535 units from 1,253 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the April-July period of FY27, total sales of the combined Trucks &amp; Buses business grew 13 per cent to 12,398 units, compared with 10,983 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mahindra Trucks &amp; Buses Division posted a 27 per cent rise in July sales to 1,406 units from 1,107 units a year earlier. Cargo vehicle sales increased to 1,057 units from 832 units, while passenger vehicle sales climbed to 349 units from 275 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SML Mahindra reported a 12 per cent increase in total sales to 1,603 units in July from 1,427 units in the same month last year. Passenger vehicle sales jumped 21 per cent to 1,186 units from 978 units, although cargo vehicle sales declined 7 per cent to 417 units from 449 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commenting on the industry outlook, Vinod Sahay, Executive Chairman of SML and President of Aerospace, Advanced Technologies, Trucks, Buses and Construction Equipment at M&amp;M, said the Indian truck and bus industry continues to witness healthy growth despite cost-related headwinds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He attributed the momentum to sustained infrastructure investments, rising freight demand and an accelerating fleet replacement cycle, adding that these factors position the sector for continued growth in the coming months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi: Mahindra &amp; Mahindra Ltd (M&amp;M) on Saturday reported a 19 per cent year-on-year increase in overall sales of its Trucks &amp; Buses business, including exports, at 3,009 units in July 2026, driven by strong growth in both cargo and passenger vehicle segments.
