New Delhi: Mobility technology company Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (Sona Comstar) on Thursday reported a 45 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to Rs 181 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, driven by strong growth in battery electric vehicle (BEV) business and robust demand across global markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of Rs 1,310 crore in the April-June quarter, up 54 per cent from the corresponding period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 49 per cent year-on-year to Rs 303 crore, while the EBITDA margin stood at 23.1 per cent. Net profit margin for the quarter was 13.6 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Revenue from battery electric vehicle programmes more than doubled, rising 107 per cent year-on-year, with BEVs accounting for a record 44 per cent of the company’s automotive revenue during the quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company also announced its entry into the robotics and physical artificial intelligence (AI) segment as part of its new “Sona Comstar 2.0” strategy, under which it aims to achieve another tenfold growth in revenue by FY35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the strategy, the company plans to expand into new product verticals through organic and inorganic initiatives, strengthen its presence in eastern markets and build intelligent and connected systems as a long-term technology growth pillar alongside electrification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on the results, Managing Director and Group CEO Vivek Vikram Singh said the company delivered its highest-ever quarterly revenue, BEV revenue and BEV revenue share despite continued weakness in the US electric vehicle market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the performance reflected increasing diversification of the company’s EV business across customers, products and geographies, while new business wins across EV, hybrid and internal combustion engine (ICE) powertrains further strengthened its global order pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the quarter, Sona Comstar secured three major orders, including an order worth Rs 640 crore from an existing North American passenger vehicle manufacturer to supply differential assemblies for a hybrid vehicle platform, with production expected to begin in the second half of FY29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company also won orders worth Rs 90 crore from a new-age electric two-wheeler manufacturer for hub wheel traction motors, with production slated to commence in the second half of FY26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, it secured a Rs 210 crore order from an existing North American passenger vehicle manufacturer to supply differential gears for an ICE vehicle platform, with production expected to start in the second half of FY28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
