Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday invited Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast to consider establishing manufacturing operations in the state, as Haryana intensified efforts to position itself as a major hub for electric mobility and advanced automotive manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The proposal was discussed during a high-level meeting held at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi, where the chief minister interacted with industry representatives, investors and senior officials on opportunities in electric vehicles, auto components and future mobility technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A presentation on VinFast\u2019s potential investment and manufacturing opportunities in Haryana was also made during the meeting. Saini later test-drove a VinFast-linked Limo Green electric cab, signalling the state\u2019s growing interest in attracting global EV investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development comes at a time when Indian states are increasingly competing to attract investments in electric vehicles, electronics and advanced manufacturing amid the automotive industry\u2019s transition toward electrification and software-driven mobility solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Haryana, one of India\u2019s largest automobile manufacturing hubs, already houses major production facilities of companies including Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, along with several commercial vehicle, tractor and auto-component manufacturers across Gurugram, Manesar, Dharuhera and Faridabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Industry observers said Haryana\u2019s established supplier ecosystem, engineering talent base, logistics infrastructure and proximity to the NCR market could make it an attractive destination for EV manufacturing and localisation-led investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
VinFast has already announced its India manufacturing plans through a facility in Tamil Nadu and has indicated that developing a local supplier ecosystem would remain a key part of its long-term India strategy. The company has been exploring expansion opportunities as it scales its presence in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Analysts noted that any future expansion by VinFast into Haryana could strengthen localisation efforts in areas such as electronics, powertrain systems, castings, plastics and software-linked automotive components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the meeting, Saini said Haryana was moving rapidly toward becoming a leading destination for EV and automobile manufacturing, backed by transparent industrial policies, strong law and order, skilled manpower and modern infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the state\u2019s connectivity advantages and proximity to Delhi-NCR make it well positioned for investments in EVs, batteries, auto components and research and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chief minister added that the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Centre was facilitating investors through a single-window clearance mechanism aimed at improving ease of doing business and accelerating industrial approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was attended by Haryana Industries Minister Rao Narbir Singh, VinGroup Asia CEO and VinFast India Managing Director Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau, senior state officials and representatives from the industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
