Mumbai: Tata Motors has launched the LPT 812, a new entrant in its Intermediate, Light and Medium Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) lineup, setting what it calls a fresh benchmark in profitability and efficiency for fleet operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The LPT 812 is India\u2019s first 4-tyre truck designed to carry a 5-tonne payload, combining the sturdiness of a six-tyre vehicle with the agility and lower operating costs of a four-tyre model. It comes factory-fitted with air-conditioning and multiple load body options, aimed at applications such as industrial goods, courier, fruits and vegetables, and market loads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Powered by the 125hp 4SPCR diesel engine producing 360Nm torque, the truck is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and booster-assisted clutch. Features like parabolic front suspension with anti-roll bar, S-Cam air brakes, tilt and telescopic steering, and heavy-duty radial tyres are designed to enhance safety, comfort, and durability. Tata is backing the truck with a 3-year\/3 lakh km warranty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head \u2013 Trucks, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said the LPT 812 was built to improve customer profitability. \u201cThis category-defining truck addresses the growing need for improved productivity while delivering superior fuel efficiency, ease of operations, and maximum uptime,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The launch strengthens Tata\u2019s ILMCV range, spanning 4\u201319 tonnes GVW, which is supported by the company\u2019s Sampoorna Seva 2.0 lifecycle services and Fleet Edge digital fleet management platform. With over 3,200 service touchpoints across India, Tata Motors says the new truck will deliver the highest uptime and peace of mind for operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
