Pune: EKA Mobility, a leading Indian electric vehicle company, on Wednesday announced a five-fold year-on-year growth in volumes for FY 2025–26, with 1,143 units sold and 1,344 electric commercial vehicles produced. The company said its expansion into the medium and heavy commercial vehicle segment, alongside its existing bus and small commercial vehicle portfolio, has been a key driver of growth.

Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, said the year marked a “defining” phase for the company, with both volume scaling and manufacturing capacity expansion. EKA has recently added a new plant, raising its planned annual capacity to 10,000 buses, 6,000 trucks, and 24,000 small commercial vehicles. He said the company’s “widest range of fully homologated, born-electric platforms—from last-mile to long-haul—positions EKA as a full-stack EV company.”

The company highlighted strong traction across its segments. EKA secured major wins under national programs such as PM e-Bus Sewa and PM E-DRIVE, deploying buses across more than 15 states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Delhi. Its small commercial vehicles, including 3S and 6S passenger variants and three-wheeler cargo platforms, saw rapid adoption in last-mile and intra-city mobility. Entry into the heavy-duty electric truck segment also contributed significantly to growth.

In the hydrogen fuel cell space, EKA deployed a nine-metre fuel cell bus at Cochin International Airport, developed in collaboration with KPIT Technologies and BPCL, with plans to roll out 15 more buses in the coming months.

On the global front, EKA has begun electric bus deployments in Africa and entered strategic agreements for CKD assembly and distribution with Kerchanshe Group. It also inked a deal with NBFI Capital to manufacture electric buses in Australia. The company operates two fully functional manufacturing facilities in Pune and expects its Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh plant to be operational shortly.

EKA said it has expanded its dealership network significantly, with plans to add 120 more outlets in FY27 across Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities. The company’s order book includes over 6,000 confirmed e-buses slated for delivery over the next two years.
