New Delhi: VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, announced its monthly sales performance for May 2025, reporting a total of 7,402 units sold. This marks a 7.3% increase in sales compared to the 6,901 units sold in May 2024, reflecting steady growth in the company’s commercial vehicle operations.
A significant contributor to this performance was the Eicher brand, which continues to demonstrate robust growth in both domestic and export markets. Eicher-branded trucks and buses recorded sales of 7,258 units in May 2025, a growth of 8% over the 6,719 units sold during the same period last year. This consistent upward trend underscores the brand’s strong presence and growing demand across key segments.
In the domestic commercial vehicle market, Eicher-branded trucks and buses saw sales of 6,758 units in May 2025, up from 6,304 units in May 2024. This represents a 7.2% increase, driven by continued infrastructure development and rising demand in the logistics and public transport sectors. The domestic market remains a cornerstone of VECV’s business strategy, and the company’s performance here is indicative of a well-executed approach to customer needs and market dynamics.
On the export front, VECV also reported strong growth, with 501 units sold in May 2025 as compared to 415 units in May 2024, marking an impressive increase of 20.7%. The strong export performance highlights VECV’s expanding footprint in international markets, particularly in regions where demand for reliable and cost-efficient transportation solutions is rising.
However, Volvo Trucks and Buses, which form the premium segment of VECV’s product portfolio, faced a downturn during the month. The brand recorded sales of 144 units in May 2025, compared to 182 units in May 2024. This represents a de-growth of 20.9%, attributed to factors such as market-specific slowdowns and cyclical fluctuations in the high-end commercial vehicle segment.
Overall, VECV’s performance in May 2025 reflects a solid growth trajectory, particularly driven by the strength of the Eicher brand in both domestic and international markets. Despite challenges in the premium segment, the company remains optimistic about continued momentum through product innovation, network expansion, and customer-focused strategies.
