New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), a leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, has reached an important sales milestone with 50,000 ADAS enabled Honda cars now on Indian roads. This achievement underscores HCIL’s commitment to Honda’s global vision of “Safety for Everyone” and its goal to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles by 2050.

Striving to improve safety for everyone sharing the road and envision a collision-free society, Honda has been taking numerous pioneering efforts in crashworthiness, collision compatibility and pedestrian safety.

Honda SENSING, Honda’s intelligent ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology, was first introduced in India with the launch of Honda City e:HEV in May 2022, India’s first mainstream strong hybrid electric vehicle. Recognizing the growing importance of safety, HCIL has been expanding its application to other models in its line up viz Honda City (March 2023), Honda Elevate (September 2023), and most recently, in Honda Amaze (December 2024). The All-New 3rd Generation Amaze is the most affordable ADAS enabled car in India making this advanced safety technology accessible to a wider range of customers.

Customer response to the introduction of ADAS technology has been very positive reflecting the growing consumer preference for advanced safety technologies and as per current sales trend, the Honda SENSING ADAS equipped variants account for over 60%, 95% and 30% in sales of Elevate, City and Amaze respectively. Additionally, among customers who opted for ADAS-equipped models, 1 in every 2 chose the advanced safety technology as their primary reason for purchase. This highlights the increasing importance of safety in the decision-making process for Indian car buyers.

Speaking on this achievement Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. commented, “At Honda Cars India, safety is at the core of everything we do. Achieving the milestone of 50,000 ADAS-enabled vehicles on Indian roads reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing safety for all. This achievement not only aligns with our global safety vision but also demonstrates the growing preference and acceptance of Indian consumers to advanced driver assistance technologies. Every day, we are working to make our vehicles safer by continuously improving both active and passive safety features, ensuring that we offer a secure driving experience for everyone.”
