JBM Auto has showcased its E12 Galaxy electric coach at Prawaas 4.0 2024 in Bangalore from Agust 29 to 31 August.
The JBM E12 Galaxy features a length of 12,400 mm, a width of 2,590 mm, and a height of 3,724 mm. Its 6,350 mm wheelbase and 1,200 mm floor height contribute to a spacious and accessible interior. Built on a high-strength, corrosion-resistant monocoque chassis, the coach uses FRP exterior panels for the front and rear, with optional aluminum or stretched steel side panels.

Indian manufacturer JBM also made its entry in the European market in 2023 by showcasing two vehicles at Busworld Brussels.

At the same expo Prawaas 4.0, Volvo – Eicher joint-venture VECV showcased 3 vehicles, including EV intercity coach, Tata Motors raised the curtain on its new 7-meter Ultra EV minibus and Veera Vahana and Exponent Energy launched a “15-minute charging” intercity electric bus.

The JBM E12 Galaxy is equipped with electronically controlled air suspension. Passengers benefit from luxury reclining seats with optional calf support, personalized reading lamps, and adjustable AC louvers.

Accommodating 45 passengers in a luxurious 2×2 configuration, the JBM E12 Galaxy also provides space for a driver and co-driver. The seats feature premium reclining mechanisms and optional calf support for maximum comfort. With 6.05 cubic meters of luggage space, the coach can handle ample personal belongings. Additional features include a kneeling system for easy boarding, USB charging ports, and a comprehensive HVAC system, with optional heating for added convenience.

The JBM E12 Galaxy is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, delivering up to 250 kW of power and allowing speeds of up to 95 km/h. The coach features a 200 kWh Lithium-Ion battery. Fast charging is supported through a CCS-2 system, enabling a full recharge in just 60 to 90 minutes. The regenerative braking system enhances energy efficiency, extending the vehicle’s range and reducing operational costs.

Safety is a key focus of the JBM E12 Galaxy’s design. The coach is equipped with all-disc brakes featuring an Electronic Braking System (EBS) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). High-temperature cut-off mechanisms for the battery and a Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS) enhance fire safety. The coach also includes surveillance cameras and Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS) for comprehensive monitoring.

Driver comfort is enhanced with a 4-way adjustable seat featuring a 3-point ELR seat belt. The coach is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electronically controlled air suspension, and hill hold functions to ensure a smooth driving experience. The steering system combines electric drive with hydraulic power assistance and includes tilt and telescopic adjustments for precise control.

Adhering to rigorous Insulation and Interlock (IM and IL) safety standards, the E12 Galaxy has been tested for 1 million kilometers and meets side-impact and rollover safety regulations. Larger glass panels help eliminate blind spots, improving driving safety.
