New Delhi: Tata Motors, the frontrunner in India’s electric vehicle revolution and the country’s leading SUV manufacturer, unveiled the much-anticipated Harrier.ev, positioning it as the most powerful, most capable, and most intelligent SUV ever built in India. With this launch, the company marks a bold leap into the future of electric mobility, blending cutting-edge performance with uncompromising luxury and innovation.

The Harrier.ev, priced from an introductory ₹21.49 lakh, is designed to offer both adventure and indulgence, promising a dynamic experience whether navigating rugged terrains or cruising through urban landscapes. It is powered by Tata’s next-generation acti.ev+ pure EV architecture and features a QWD (Quad-Wheel Drive) dual-motor setup that delivers an impressive 504 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful electric SUV developed by an Indian automaker.

Capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, the Harrier.ev sets a new benchmark for performance in its segment. It comes equipped with six advanced terrain modes and substantial ground clearance, enabling it to tackle off-road challenges with ease. The SUV’s design incorporates premium features under the “Zenith Suite” concept, offering unmatched in-cabin luxury and user experience.

Setting new standards in automotive intelligence, the Harrier.ev boasts several technological innovations including Digi Access with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) for hands-free unlocking, an e-Valet mode, and a 540° Surround View system that reveals not just the surroundings but even what lies beneath the vehicle—an industry-first.

Further enhancing its appeal to EV customers, Tata Motors announced a lifetime warranty on the Harrier.ev’s battery pack, reflecting the company’s confidence in its battery technology and reinforcing its commitment to delivering hassle-free ownership.

Speaking at the launch event, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said the Harrier.ev continues Tata’s legacy of redefining the SUV space. “From defining the SUV segment in the 1990s to democratizing it in the 2020s, our journey has always been driven by innovation. With the Harrier.ev, we are not just introducing a new product—we are rewriting the rules of what’s possible.”

The vehicle is expected to appeal to both urban and semi-urban buyers, with a claimed range of over 500 km, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and bi-directional charging capabilities. It also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, enhancing its versatility.

With electric vehicles already accounting for over 14% of Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales, the company is aggressively expanding its EV infrastructure, product lineup, and manufacturing capacity. Tata has also invested heavily in battery tech and localization efforts to make EVs more affordable and accessible.

He emphasized that the Harrier.ev combines legendary pedigree with futuristic engineering. “Built on the cutting-edge Acti.ev+ architecture and powered by a robust QWD, this SUV delivers not only the highest torque and quickest acceleration ever seen in an Indian SUV but also a range of first-in-world and segment-first features,” Chandra said.

Among the luxury highlights are a display developed by Harman using Samsung Neo QLED technology, immersive Dolby Atmos acoustics, and the groundbreaking 540° view system. “Crafted to lead with intelligence, indulgence and intent, the Harrier.ev shatters the barriers of range anxiety and infrastructure limitations to make EV ownership not just aspirational, but effortlessly attainable,” he added.

The Harrier.ev will be available in four striking color variants and marks yet another milestone in Tata Motors’ journey to solidify its position as a leader in sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.

Harrier.ev: where electrification meets exhilaration

The Harrier.ev is not just an electric SUV—it is a manifestation of engineering excellence, futuristic technology, and uncompromised luxury. Designed to deliver supercar-like performance and all-terrain capability while surrounding its occupants in indulgent comfort, the Harrier.ev stands as a bold testament to Tata Motors’ commitment to redefine what an electric vehicle can be.

At the heart of the Harrier.ev lies the advanced acti.ev+ architecture, an evolution of Tata’s electrification platform engineered for enhanced performance, control, and safety. This new-generation electric SUV promises a thrilling driving experience powered by a dual-motor setup, producing 158 PS (116 kW) at the front and 238 PS (175 kW) at the rear. The combined torque of 504 Nm propels the Harrier.ev from 0 to 100 km/h in a segment-best time of just 6.3 seconds, delivering a dynamic performance once reserved for high-end sports cars. This explosive acceleration is complemented by long-range battery options of 65 kWh and 75 kWh, offering a real-world driving range between 480 to 505 kilometers. When it comes to recharging, fast charging capabilities at 1.5 C allow the Harrier.ev to gain up to 250 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes—eliminating the anxiety often associated with EV ownership.

True to the SUV spirit, the Harrier.ev doesn’t just own the road—it carves it. The vehicle’s off-road capabilities are unmatched in its segment. With six distinct terrain modes—Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom—drivers can confidently tackle diverse surfaces, from city potholes to mountain trails. Complementing these are specialized drive settings like Boost Mode for spirited acceleration, Drift Mode for dynamic maneuvering, and Off-road Assist with low-speed cruise control for precision in tricky terrain. An innovative Transparent Mode enhances obstacle visibility directly beneath the vehicle, allowing drivers to see what’s underfoot and make informed navigation choices off the beaten path.

Where the Harrier.ev truly stands apart is in its luxurious and tech-infused cabin that elevates every journey into a refined experience. At the center of this transformation is the e-Valet system. Features like Auto Park Assist (APA) automatically maneuver the SUV into tight spots, while Anywhere Parking—an industry-first innovation—enables users to define their own parking zones, breaking free from the need for marked spaces. Reverse Assist retraces the vehicle’s last 50 meters to help escape tight spots effortlessly, while Summon Mode allows the SUV to be called forward or in reverse from a remote location, perfect for congested parking environments.

The Harrier.ev’s Clear View Assist takes visibility and safety to the next level. A 540-degree surround view system offers an expansive look at the driving environment, incorporating 360-degree monitoring, Transparent Mode, and Blind Spot View Monitors, which display live video feeds of hidden zones directly on the infotainment screen and instrument cluster. The smart HD Rear View Mirror (e-IRVM) ensures an unobstructed view at all times and doubles up as a full-HD dashcam, continuously recording both front and rear footage. Thanks to support for up to 128GB of storage and a built-in QR code system, sharing driving footage is as seamless as scanning a code.

Convenience takes center stage with Digi Access, offering a completely keyless experience. With Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology, drivers can use their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android smartphone as a smart key, enabling hands-free locking, unlocking, and driving. In case of backup, a Smart Card provides access and starting capabilities, while a Remote Key delivers 11 functions, including Remote Park and Summon Mode, all from a distance.

In-car entertainment reaches new heights with the Theatre Maax Experience. A massive 36.9cm (14.53″) Harman infotainment display—the world’s first Neo QLED screen in an automobile—brings cinematic clarity to the dashboard. This is paired with JBL’s cutting-edge 10-speaker JBL Black system, specially tuned with immersive audio modes, and bolstered by Dolby Atmos for rich, multidimensional sound. For continuous connectivity and entertainment, the Harrier.ev comes equipped with Arcade.ev, a suite of 25+ in-car apps offering everything from music and podcasts to OTT content and news, making every journey enjoyable for all passengers.

Navigation is equally sophisticated with built-in Mappls support, offering highly detailed maps, offline capabilities, and EV-specific features like spider range visualization and battery-efficient route planning. It intelligently suggests charging stations based on the current State of Charge (SOC), ensuring hassle-free long-distance travel.

Tata Motors also integrates 55+ connected features under the iRA.ev suite. From remote vehicle operations and car tracking to UPI-based in-car payments via DrivePay, the Harrier.ev makes every digital interaction secure and intuitive. With 4 years of complimentary connected services, users are ensured a seamless digital ownership experience.

Built on the acti.ev+ architecture, the Harrier.ev has been optimized across four layers. The Powertrain layer introduces advanced QWD and RWD systems, improved battery capacity, and terrain adaptability. The Chassis layer integrates Ultra Glide suspension with FDD and advanced braking and crash safety. The Electrical and Electronics layer is driven by t.idal—the Tata Intelligent Digital Architecture Layer—featuring over 500 million lines of code for seamless operation of infotainment, ADAS, voice recognition, OTA updates, and more. Finally, the Cloud Architecture layer supports innovative features like Digi Access and Arcade.ev, turning the Harrier.ev into a fully software-defined vehicle.

Inside, the Zenith Suite encapsulates the very essence of luxury. Memory seats, powered and ventilated front seats, and a Power BOSS mode that slides the front passenger seat forward at the touch of a button provide enhanced rear legroom. Rear comfort is further amplified with plush headrests and a fold-down center armrest with integrated cup holders. Voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with cooled storage, and an air purifier ensure personalized comfort, while ambient lighting synced with drive modes and music heightens the overall ambiance. Additional thoughtful touches include wireless phone charging, ultra-fast 65W USB chargers, rear sunshades, and power-sharing capabilities via Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functionality. Cargo needs are met with a generous 502-litre boot, expandable to 999 litres, and a functional frunk of 67 litres in RWD and 35 litres in AWD variants.

Safety remains paramount with the Harrier.ev. It includes seven airbags (including a knee airbag), a 540-degree Clear View Assist system, Level 2 ADAS with over 20 intelligent features, and the HD e-IRVM with DVR functionality. Further boosting safety are ESP with i-VBAC, Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), SOS Call, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Assist, TPMS, rain-sensing wipers, and auto headlamps.

Aesthetically, the Harrier.ev is a design masterpiece, available in four striking color options: Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey. For those who crave a darker, more mysterious appeal, the STEALTH Edition delivers a bold, aggressive visual identity that commands attention and refuses to be ignored.

In every sense—be it design, performance, technology, luxury, or safety—the Harrier.ev is not just ahead of its time; it defines what the future of electric mobility should feel like.
