New Delhi: In a significant move to bolster the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in India, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has entered into a strategic partnership with Statiq, a leading EV charging solutions provider. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating the adoption of Eicher’s electric commercial vehicles, especially the recently launched Eicher Pro X range of Small Commercial Vehicles.
The collaboration is expected to enhance the charging experience for Eicher truck and bus customers across the country by offering seamless access to Statiq’s rapidly expanding charging infrastructure. Currently, Statiq operates an aggregated platform that integrates more than 8,000 charging points sourced from various Charge Point Operators (CPOs) across India. Through this partnership, Eicher EV users will benefit from easier, faster, and more efficient access to charging stations nationwide.
As part of the agreement, Statiq will become one of VECV’s preferred partners for the supply and installation of both AC and DC chargers. This will help ensure that customers of Eicher EV trucks and buses experience reliable and hassle-free charging solutions. Additionally, the companies plan to integrate Statiq’s comprehensive charging network with VECV’s My Eicher app—an industry-first connected fleet management platform. This integration will offer users real-time visibility of nearby charging stations, intelligent navigation assistance, and complete tariff transparency.
To further incentivize EV adoption among commercial vehicle operators, both VECV and Statiq will introduce promotional offers and preferential tariffs for Eicher customers. These initiatives are expected to provide a significant boost to operational efficiency and convenience, ultimately encouraging more transporters to transition to electric mobility.
Commenting on the development, Abhishek Chaudhary, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Small Commercial Vehicles, VECV, stated, “Our partnership with Statiq marks a significant step forward in strengthening the EV ecosystem for commercial transportation in India. By offering an integrated solution to customers through the industry-leading My Eicher app, we aim to deliver a hassle-free and reliable experience. This collaboration will empower Eicher Pro X electric customers with enhanced convenience, confidence, and operational efficiency, accelerating the shift towards sustainable transportation.”
Echoing the sentiment, Akshit Bansal, CEO and Founder of Statiq, said, “Our partnership with VE Commercial Vehicles is a milestone in our journey to create a strong and efficient EV charging ecosystem for commercial vehicles in India. By integrating our expansive charging network with VECV’s My Eicher app, we aim to provide users with a seamless, tech-driven charging experience that removes barriers to EV adoption. With this initiative, we are committed to enabling a smoother, faster transition to electric mobility for commercial vehicle operators.”
In addition to integrating digital and physical infrastructure, the partnership will also focus on creating a robust support system for EV users. This includes the establishment of call center access, streamlined service ticket management, timely troubleshooting, and maintenance services to ensure minimal disruption to vehicle operations. A dedicated Point of Contact (POC) system will also be implemented under shared responsibility to manage customer queries and service requests efficiently.
Statiq will also work with VECV to identify and map high-capacity charging hubs, particularly those with adequate infrastructure and parking space, on the My Eicher platform. This effort will cater to the diverse needs of Eicher’s customer base across various commercial vehicle segments.
Further, the two companies plan to execute comprehensive turnkey projects that encompass installation, operation, and ongoing maintenance of charging stations. Additional initiatives include mobile charging units, shared infrastructure models, and revenue-sharing partnerships with channel partners who host charging stations on their premises.
Through this wide-ranging collaboration, VECV and Statiq aim to reshape India’s commercial EV landscape by making charging infrastructure more accessible, efficient, and reliable. The partnership represents a major leap forward in the collective effort to promote sustainable and environment-friendly commercial transportation in the country.
